We are a bunch of Bikers based in Newbridge, County Kildare, Republic of Ireland, dedicated to Beer, Bikes and Babes.
The Founding Brethren having a common interest in bikes and fun decided to set up the group.

We are now into our ninth year, and are known throughout Ireland as "party animals" :].

We hope through this page to provide some useful information to Bikers, both in Ireland and outside. To this aim we will add new links and information as soon as posible.

History.

The Bastard Brothers, In The Begining.....

In the beginning was the word, and the word was "whynot ? !". Well, its a bit of a stretch at one word but call it poetic licence, and of course we know we have fourteen days to produce it!

Sunday, April 1995, Newbridge; three friends were heading to their local pub as was their habit. On the way they reflected on the reception that they would receive on arrival in the pub. Every Sunday at almost the same time of day the three would appear almost without fail. This caused large amounts of "slagging" from the other regulars and staff, leading to the three being christened,"the three amigos", "the three blind mice", etc. Thus the three, as they strolled, laughed and put forward their own variations amongst which was "The Bastard Brothers". Thus the name stuck, and the rest is history.

As time went by the idea of setting up as a bike club was mooted, seeing as a good group of like-minded friends were around. The decision was made not to become a full MCC with Presidents etc., but instead the Three founders would co-ordinate the Groups activities. The initial number of members was ten.

The first patch was designed early on in that year but had to be withdrawn later on due to a clash with a newly arrived MC who objected to the choice of colours (black on white). Undaunted the Group continued with a new design and colours (red on black) worn on t-shirts etc. The new Device now incorporated the Group Mottos, "Illegitimus non Tatum Carborundum" (don't let the Bastards grind you down), and "Sex, Drugs, Rock'n' Roll" (more in wishful want!).

After attending Rallys all over Ireland and getting ourselves known, we always held the desire to fly a side patch. As a result of changes in MC politics, in the year 1999 we approached the newly founded Alliance MC Ireland Council for our patch and were successful.

In 1997 we did not have the resources to hold a Rally so it was decided to hold a Rock Night. This would be a rehearsal for a Rally and also get some cash in the war funds! The night was held in the Sportsman's Inn, Timolin, County Carlow (Ok, the cat is out of the bag, this scribe is responsible for the mistake on the poster stating that Timolin was in Kildare, forgive him but he is a "blow in"!).

The gig was a major success. Imagine almost 100 drunk bikers dancing to Aqua's "Barbie Doll"! A most amazing site! This gave us a major glow of pride and raised a tear in the eye, as it was an endorsement by our peers.

Planning went ahead straight away for the first Rally. The venue this time was to be The Cush Inn, Kildangan. Again lots of planning and trying to pay attention to the small details paid off. It was also the beginning of our now infamous trademark in the form of a Summons to Attend, instead of an invitation.

On the 3rd November 2000 the First Pickled Horse Rally was held. Before going further it must be explained where the name came from. One of the Founders (Mr. Joseph Swords Esq.) works in an equestrian pharmaceuticals plant (that’s makers of rocket fuel for horses to the rest of us) and had obtained a preserved baby horse in a jar! The story is that during the pregnancy of a thoroughbred horse if it has twins then to minimise the danger of the mare dying during birth, then one of the twins is aborted. Thus our guy was in our opinion "the Unfortunate Bastard”, thus a perfect Group Mascot,plus he makes a perfect house pet, never needs walkies etc.!

The Rally was again a success, and again we were delighted by the turn out and praise from our peers.

The 2nd Pickled Horse was held again in the Cush Inn on the 4th of November of 2001. This time it scared the pants off us (calm down there at the back!) with the record number of people that turned up. The panic set in trying to find bike parking space and praying that there was enough camping space as well.

From the beginning we have always had approx. 10 to 12 members. However as time goes by and people have to react to new circumstances, the membership rises and falls. Again the Group strives onwards and rebuilds its self better and stronger.
At the moment,April 2005 , we now total 7.
The current membership consists of:

*Dave "The Bear" Keeley::Prez
*"Bug"::Vice Prez
* Mal Whitly (aka Joosy) A Founder -Treasurer
* BJ Martin (aka the Dok) A Founder - Secretary
*Paddy "Finder"
*Greg "Bitch"
*Smithy "YoYo" aks " Dwarf Slayer "

We enjoy a good working relationship with the other clubs, i.e. we all get drunk together!
